Roland & Daryl Shay
The keepers of the Flagstaff metal scene the Shay brothers have the skills to shred like no others without holding anything back. Though best know for Subterranean Vision Serpent, a local all originals metal band, the ShayBros. are also known for there ferocious cover of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Van Halen just to name a few. The Scully twins & Shay Bros. have crossed paths several times over the years with "projects" like "Shred of the Dead", "Shred of the Dread", and " Shred of the Heads". Bringing a metal edge to the music of the Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, and the Talking Heads. One thing is for sure, when two brothers are locked in on high octane metal, you will have no choice but to "bang your head".
The Arizona Hired Guns
The Arizona Hired Guns—freshly formed in Flagstaff, Arizona—is a five-piece outfit steeped in the rich harmonies and keen instrumentation of Southern rock ‘n’ roll and blues. Sporting decades of experience each, the Hired Guns blaze forth with each member exchanging growling vocals while blending their respective sounds on guitar, bass, drums and keys. The group leans heavily into soulful guitar, often punched up with weeping slide that groans like the old ponderosa pines that envelop Flagstaff. With an ever-tuned ear toward the blues and constant energy that whips the crowd into a dancing fever spiced with Southern soul, the Hired Guns are set apart in skill and style.
Sloe Elk
Formed by Jeff Land and David Scully (twinB) in Flagstaff in the early 90's, Sloe Elk blends Americana, British Rock & Blues with a touch of Bluegrass and Pop. Sloe Elk started out with Jeff (a.k.a. The Human Jukebox) on acoustic guitar & vocal with Dave holding down the bass duties. Within a short while this duo had grown to as many as 8 musicians in the band including Andrew Scully (twinA), Screemen' Bob Zalinski, David Foltz and Ward Baily. S.E. took a break when Jeff moves back home to Indiana with the occasional get together over the years. Jeff will be back this June to re-form S.E. with his sister Lori on bass and brother Chris on drums. David & Andrew will be on board to round out the crew. And remember, "there's nothing slow about Sloe Elk".
